Adamson Baby Falcons Gets Grand Slam Crown





It is a historic three-peat title for the The Adamson University junior chess team when the 72nd season of the University Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP) chess team championships for School Year 2009-2010 ended last sunday, February 28, 2010 at the gymnasium of the University of Santo Tomas in Espana, Manila.
Playing under the watchful eye of head coach Christopher Rodriguez are the Baby Falcons composed of Jessie Abucejo, Ali Guya, Steven James Dacanay, Timothy John So Kua, Crissa Canada and reigning RP under-14 champion Karen Enriquez.

Adamson Falcon Back to Back Champion Student Universe City Chess Olympic
Scoring back to back wins against the strong U.A.A.P and NCAA players, Dark Hose Romie Lord Guerra, 5th Year student of Adamson University and Timothy So Kua, 3nd year high school student of Adamson univeristy both captured the Championship title in the College and High School Division respectively of the recently concluded 1st Student Universe City Chess Olympic held at the SM Megamall last November 22, 2009.
Guerra drew the game with Luffe Magdalaga of Far Easetern University. Both scored 5.5 pts but Guerra clinched the top spot by virtue of higher tiebreak score. So Kua likewise defeated another FEU`s varsity Vince Angelo Medina in the last round. He scored a perfect 6 ponts of the 6 Rounds Swiss System to capture the Championship in the High School Division.
Congratulations to Coach Chris Rodriguez. Best coach: High School and College Division.
